Vera Lloyd provides help to children and families who are in the foster care or adoptive system. Established as a Presbyterian ministry in 1923, Vera Lloyd provides group residential homes for children ages 6 to 21. Their services, located in Arkansas and Louisiana, include a boys’ home and a girls’ in Monticello, AR.

Organized in 1959 as a Presbyterian ministry, Evergreen provides for and champions individuals with disabilities. They run 102 community homes in Louisiana and Texas and provide vocational programs, respite and family services to over 1,000 people throughout 7 states including Arkansas.

OJoannie Cayce runs this charity in Thornton, AR with help from volunteers. It includes Cayce’s gym where needy individuals can receive food bank items as well personal hygiene and cleaning supplies and even household items. Joanie says the food bank is open every day for poor families and that they “don’t have a zip code rule.” A member recently recommended the charity and after reviewing their work, Bob Archer met and visited with Joannie where he was amazed at how well the resources and talents are used to serve so many.
